”Good employment is a mixture of listening, respect, and asking the right questions. It thrives on networking and enjoys peer support and leisurely encounters. Support for job hunting is sometimes given with a spoon and sometimes with a ladle, and it can come from sparring, insight, or enabling. Employment is appreciating individuality and making the most of communality. Employment is collaboration.”

The final publication of the PALKO Project is built around these ideas, and it presents four employment models identified in the project:

  1. Job hunting services powered by networking
  2. Matching work with workers
  3. Finding a job through peer support and coaching
  4. Job seekers on their own path

Partly funded by the European Social Fund, the PALKO Project, which ended 31.8, provided practical support for job seekers in job hunting skills, as well as offered them possibilities for networking and getting to know potential employers. They gained new perspective to job hunting and had access to a coach who supported them with the ups and downs of job hunting. At the same time, a new kind of employment service network was created in the Porvoo and Loviisa regions, which will continue to collaborate and develop even after the project – for the good of job seekers!
