Uusimaa goes CEGO
The Circular Economy Goes East and West project (CEGO) accelerates the realization of the business potential of circular economy and the construction of Uusimaa-wide circular economy business ecosystem.
Transition to a circular economy also applies to the reuse of soil materials. In the Posintra sub-project, the development focuses on enhancing the recycling of soil materials through cooperation between the city and companies. The objective is to promote the establishment of a regional soil bank and to develop local companies’ understanding of the circular economy and sustainable development and to promote their participation in the circular economy.
In addition, the project will create business networks, new types of cooperation models and partnerships, which will enable companies to do more sustainable business.
The project is implemented by the Uusimaa development companies Posintra Oy, Keski-Uudenmaan Kehittämiskeskus Oy Keuke, which promotes the circular economy of renovation construction, and Novago Yrityskehitys Oy, which promotes the circular economy of plastic products. The coordinator is Laurea University of Applied Sciences, which integrates everything into a unified entity and contributes to the dissemination of good practices created in the project.
The duration of the project is 1.6.2021 (Posintra start 1.8.2021) – 31.8.2023. The main financier is the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the project is funded as part of the Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The total budget of the project is € 1,157,311.
