The implementation of lighting is an essential part of Aleksinpuisto and Taidetehtaanpuisto under construction in Porvoo. The parks are centrally located and the area will be built into a comfortable and easily accessible urban space. Thus, it is not irrelevant how and with what technology the lighting of the site is carried out.
Lighting solutions for the Porvoo LUCIA pilot site have been sought from smart technology in accordance with the lighting design previously prepared by Ramboll Finland Oy. The City of Porvoo has completed the procurement procedure, which includes lighting and equipment, other necessary technology, as well as installation and connection works. Porvoo-based electrical contracting company Jeti-Sähkö Oy is responsible for the implementation of the acquisition.
At the tender stage, contractors were asked to provide a cost estimate and delivery time for the technical quantity list products created in the lighting design process. The actual lighting installation works will begin later as the park works progress. The contractor is responsible for storing the technology until commissioning.
What can we expect? The lighting is implemented with LED technology. The lampposts are equipped with solar panels with USB charging capability. The posts also have sound beacons that guide the passage of the visually impaired in the area. The so-called Gobo projectors that provide local lighting highlight the paths of cyclists and walkers. The lighting control is based on Capello’s Smart City system, which enables e.g. lighting that changes according to weather conditions. In addition, lighting control based on motion detectors is also implemented in the area, where applicable.
When completed, the new parks in Porvoo will attract visitors to a visually pleasant and safe outdoor space, where technology is implemented on human terms.
